Your Sunday sermon, working all week.

Divining turns the services you already record into a podcast, preserves them, makes them searchable by topic, and shows you how your church comes across, both in its preaching and on its website. Free for every congregation.

No software to install. A church email address is all you need to claim your church.

Gold is your part. Usually a few minutes, once.
Blue is what Divining handles, every week, automatically.

Your livestream becomes a podcast

Most churches stopped podcasting because editing every week was too much work. Divining takes the video you already post on YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook, finds where the sermon starts and ends, and publishes just the sermon as a podcast episode.

Live now

You

  • Point us at your livestream, or upload a recording
  • Submit your podcast link to Apple and Spotify once

Divining

  • Separates the sermon from music and announcements
  • Transcribes it and sorts it by topic
  • Publishes your RSS feed and saves a copy on archive.org

See what your website tells visitors you stand for

People looking for a new church read your website before they visit. We read it too, and check 29 things visitors often look for: welcome for LGBTQ+ people, anti-racism, creation care, accessibility, children's programs, online worship, your statement of faith and more. Then we show how your site compares with other churches in your denomination.

Every finding quotes the sentence on your site it came from. If we missed something, tell us and we'll correct it. See every church in the Church values report.

Live now, on your church page

You

  • Read the comparison on your church page
  • Say clearly on your site what you already practice

Divining

  • Re-checks your site every few months and updates the comparison

Share a podcast with churches like yours

A podcast with a weekly sermon from one church has a small audience. Several like-minded congregations in the same area, or the same conference, synod or district, can publish one shared podcast together and promote it to all their members. Each church's sermons go in automatically, so nobody carries the work.

Set up on request

You

  • Agree with the other churches on a name and which sermons to include
  • Promote the shared feed together

Divining

  • Builds the shared feed from each church's sermons as they arrive
  • Each church can still choose which of its episodes appear

Learn what resonates with your congregation

Invite your members to explore your sermons on Divining. You'll see which sermons and topics people return to across the whole site. When members create an account and choose your church as their home church, you also see what your own congregation explores, as totals, never as individuals.

Your church page also shows the topics you preach on most, how they shift over the year, and how your preaching compares with churches in your tradition.

Topic statistics live now Home-church member totals coming soon

You

  • Share the link to your sermons with members
  • Ask them to set your church as their home church

Divining

  • Counts visits and listens by sermon and topic
  • Shows the totals for your home-church members on your church page

Your archive, preserved and searchable

Every sermon is transcribed, split into topics from more than 1,800, and listed alongside other churches' sermons on the same subjects. The audio and transcript are saved on the Internet Archive, so your preaching outlasts any website or hosting plan.

Your church gets a public page with its sermons, themes, a timeline of what was published each week, and the website comparison. Browse church pages.

Live now

You

  • Nothing, beyond posting your services

Divining

  • Transcribes, sorts by topic and preserves every sermon
  • Keeps your church page up to date each week

For your members and ministers

Members can build their own personal theology from the sermons that speak to them, take a short spirituality quiz, and explore the topics map. Small groups and classes can find past sermons on whatever they're studying.

Ministers can see how other preachers handled the same text or theme, and jump straight to that moment in the audio. Seminary students use it the same way.

Live now

You

  • Mention it in a class, a newsletter or from the pulpit

Divining

  • Keeps the tools free and open to anyone

You stay in control

Once you claim your church, the Studio lets you decide what appears. Turn the podcast feed on or off, choose which episodes are in it, unpublish a sermon, correct a date, request that older recordings be archived, and invite other staff to help manage it.

Get started

  1. Find your church below. Many churches are already on Divining, with sermons transcribed.
  2. Claim it with an email address at your church's domain (for example, office@yourchurch.org).
  3. In the Studio, turn on your podcast feed and submit it to Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Everything here is free. Divining exists to make sermons easier to find and share, and to preserve them for future generations.

We only post video on YouTube or Vimeo. Does this work for us?

Yes. That's the most common case. Divining makes the podcast from your video.

Do we need a church email address?

It's how we confirm you speak for the church. If you don't have one, contact us and we'll verify another way.

Can members see who listened to what?

No. Churches see totals by sermon and topic, never individual listeners.

What if our website comparison is wrong?

Every finding quotes the sentence it came from. Use "Suggest a correction" on your church page and we'll fix it.
